I have been infinitely inspired by the majestic mountain environment I’ve been submerged in over the last 7 years + Encounters with countless images, ideas, dreams, expressions, and interpretations of life that I absorb along my constant mission toward greater understandings of consciousness&reality. Many of my (mostly) abstract paintings are reflective of my surroundings, while others are expressions of spiritual symbolism and translations of inner experiences. My passion for creating these works is entwined in the meditative process.
To create a work of art is to create the world. -Wassily Kandinsky
An abstract world, while less predictable, is simply more fun. It is an invitation for a liberated soul to explore the ins-and-outs of all possible momentary circumstances.
I choose to create my own colorful reality one layer at a time. I become deeply engaged in this process that is both with and without self-control - fluidity and acceptance are key to achieving both beauty and happiness. My process is more important to me than the finished product - as this life is all about the journey, not the destination.
More often than not, I simply allow my materials to act as they naturally do, guiding my pantings into a general direction without attachment to any specific outcome.. I often wonder how much of this work is my own, and how much is simply a display of the fluid nature of brilliant pigments in their vehicle of water; these creations flow through me as I act as a channel for their existence.
